The Grand Canyon-Nine Days Rafting the Colorado River-Day 1

Three weeks before the start of this trip, we got an email from Scott White about his friends who were selling a rafting trip down the Grand Canyon for half price.  We snatched it up along with Lynn and Carol Sue Johnson and were so excited for our adventure!

July 21, 2014
     We left Draper at 6:30 am and drove to Flagstaff, Arizona with Lynn and Carol Sue.  We stopped and had lunch at a Texas BBQ in Page.

     We arrived at the Double Tree Hotel an changed clothes and got on a shuttle to the South Rim.  We met our group, spent the night at the Maswik Lodge and got up at 4:30 am to prepare for the hike down the canyon to our waiting rafts.
     I was very nervous and kept thinking about falling off of the cliffs.  It looks so steep from the top. I had a hard time falling asleep in the hot room, thinking about the Angel's Landing hike in Zions and another angel--the Bright Angel Trail was making me very nervous!
