Aalborg, Denmark

Mark got up late this morning after being up at 3:00 am eating chocolate and reading.  After a big breakfast including Swedish pancakes with lingon berries, we set out to walk around Aalborg, where Mark's great grandmother's family on his mother's side are from.

We went to the Budoli Cathedral for Catholic Mass and heard the readings and the beautiful pipe organ and choir.  I don't know how many are in the choir since they were up and behind us, but it sounded like 50.  It reverberated through the cathedral and was inspiring.  At the end of the service, the organist played a modern piece that was beautiful.

There is English everywhere, which is crazy to me.  Would we ever see anything in Danish anywhere in the US?  

There are 10 little homes on a curvy street with hollyhocks in front, so charming.  All of them are lived in.

We found another church where there was a group of older people talking,eating and drinking coffee in a group on the side of the chapel.  Maybe Sunday School with treats?  
I don't know what church or any Mark's ancestors attended, but I like to think it was one of these two main churches in town.
