It Came Down

Behind our back garage there is a roof structure that the original owners, the Swindlers built for their horses.  For the last 11 years it has mainly been used for storing Kevin's stuff and for a ski jump.  It cost Mitchell a crushed arm in the middle of ski season one year and cost his Dad $10,000 for the surgery.  After pins and plates, Mit still ski raced much to the dismay of our neighbor Dr. Clayton who thought we were surely negligent parents (not the first time he thought that).  And the whole neighborhood climbs up to sit and watch the fireworks every summer.  This year Mark forbid the neighborhood from climbing up.  He knew it was getting sketchy and didn't want anyone getting hurt.  He hired Mitchell and Patrick to do the demolition.  They had a great time and found out that several of the phone-pole beams were completely rotted and were not holding up anything at all.  Mark has been planning all sorts of designs for a new roof, but alas golf took over and it will have to wait until next Spring.
