Go-Karting

Last Christmas, my Mom and I went together on a gift for my children.  The Larry Miller Race Track has a Kart track and Kevin has been looking for a real kart experience for years.  We are somewhat familiar with Larry's Place because of what Mark did on his birthday two years ago.  In case you didn't hear, he was driving his BMW M3 on the car race track with the Porcshe club.  He was having so much fun when his engine blew up and then spewed oil all over the track.  The whole place shut down to clean it up and the Porsche guys thought he was hired by Porsche to make BMW's look bad.  Luckly the $20,000 fix was covered by BMW since they had had a problem with that engine.

In August while Daniel was here we drove out to the track and made a day of it.  The kart track was pretty amazing. Shalane and I decided to obstain.  Fortunately no one else was there.  It was so much fun to watch them all going very fast chasing and passing with a few spin outs to make things more interesting.  They did 4-fifteen minute segments and were all worn out by the end. They all agreed it was the best Grandma Christmas present ever and they hope for a repeat.  Once again, "The family that competes together stays together??"
